Ryokan Asakusa Mikawaya

Ryokan Asakusa Mikawaya is an old-fashioned Japanese-style hotel with very reasonable room rates in the heart of Asakusa’s downtown district. This hotel is quiet and comfortable but has immediate access to Asakusa’s top sightseeing attractions, and its best shopping and dining facilities.

Guest Rooms

Ryokan Asakusa Mikawaya has 15 guest rooms which all have their own private bathroom and toilet. Guests can choose between a 6-mat tatami room with futons, a 12-mat tatami room with futons, a single room with a bed, or a double room with a bed.

All guest rooms have air conditioning and heating and are supplied with a TV, a mirror, an electric kettle and tea set, an alarm clock, a hair dryer, and nightwear. All rooms are non-smoking.Bathrooms all have showers and bathtubs and are supplied with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, shaving razors, bath towels and face towels.

Dining

This hotel does not serve meals and has very limited catering facilities. However, there are plenty of coffee shops nearby where guests can get breakfast, and a great variety of restaurants for other meals. There is also a convenience store 1 minute walk from the ryokan where guests can buy cheap snacks and drinks. Daily groceries can be bought at the 24 hour supermarket which is a 5 minute walk away.

Other Services & Facilities

The front desk is staffed from 7.00 to 23.00. Check-in time is from 15.00 and check-out time is by 10.00. The front entrance is closed by 23.00 but guests can ask for a card key to re-enter the building after this time. The card key requires a 1000 yen returnable deposit.

Baggage can be stored at the front desk before checking in or after checking out. Valuables can be left at the front desk for safe keeping.

In the first floor lobby area there is a dining table, a microwave oven, a drinks vending machine, a currency exchange machine, and free coffee and tea.

Wireless internet access is available in the lobby.

There is a designated smoking area in the lobby.

This hotel has a self-service laundry with a coin-operated washing machine and dryer. The washing machine costs 200 yen for a single cycle, the dryer is 100 yen for a 30 minute spin, and detergent costs 100 yen.

In-room massages can be arranged at the front desk. A 40 minute massage costs 4,500 yen

Location

This hotel is in a very central location with direct access to Nakamise shopping street. The Kaminarimon Gate of Sensoji Temple is just 2 minutes away on foot. The Tobu, Toei, and Tokyo Metro Asakusa stations are 6 minutes away, and TX Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express Line is 7 minutes away.

Nearby facilities include a drugstore which is 1 minute away, a bank which is 3 minutes away, and a post office which is 5 minutes away.
