Khaosan World Asakusa Ryokan & Hostel is a colorful and cozy hostel in Asakusa offering cheap accommodation with excellent facilities. This hostel’s location is particularly convenient for local transportation and Asakusa’s top attractions. The variety of room types available here makes it suitable for backpackers, couples, families, and groups.

Guest Rooms

Khaosan World Asakusa Ryokan & Hostel has a mix of dormitory beds and private guest rooms. All sleeping areas have air conditioning and heating and all rooms are sound-proofed. Private rooms are supplied with free toiletries, tooth brushes, a hair dryer, ear plugs and slippers.

The Deluxe Family Room sleeps two adults and one child and has a private shower and toilet.
The Double Room is for adults only and has a double bed and a private shower and toilet.
The Superior Room sleeps four in bunk beds and has a seating area, a private shower and toilet.
The Maisonette sleeps four in single beds and has a private toilet and sink. Bathroom facilities are shared with other guests.
Deluxe Japanese Style Rooms are available for four or five guests. These traditional rooms have a private bathroom, and tatami flooring with futons.

Standard and Superior Japanese Rooms are also available for three, four, or six guests. These rooms all have tatami flooring, futons, and private bathrooms.
Large Family Rooms with bunk beds are also available and can sleep between eight to ten guests. These large family rooms come with or without private bathrooms depending on the size of the room.

Single bunk beds can also be rented in mixed dormitories or in the all-female dormitory. Dormitory guests have their own lockers, and access to shared bathroom facilities. Showers have hot running water, and free shampoo and body soap. Rental towels cost 50 yen.

Dining & Catering

A simple breakfast of toast and tea or coffee is served each morning from 6.00 to 10.00. There is also a fully equipped kitchen which is open 24 hours a day. The kitchen has an induction stove, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, a toaster, a kettle and other kitchen utensils. Coffee, tea, and green tea are all supplied for free.

There is a Ministop convenience store 2 minutes from the hostel where you can buy cheap groceries, snacks, and drinks. In the area around the hostel guest can find a large number of coffee shops, causal izakaya style restaurants and other eateries serving sushi, ramen noodles, eel, kushikatsu deep fried kebabs, and Italian food.

Reception is open from 6.00 to 26.00. Staff are multilingual, friendly and happy to help with advice about exploring the neighborhood. Check-in time is between 15.00 and 26.00 and check-out is by 11.00. Baggage can be stored at reception between 6.00 and 22.00. This hostel has no curfew.

The hostel has a common room with a comfortable information lounge which is accessible 24 hours a day. The lounge has a TV, comics, a dining area, and a vending machine for snacks and drinks. There is also a kids play area with toys, puzzles, board games, and picture books.

The hostel has a self-service laundry with a coin-operated washing machine and dryer. The washing machine costs 200 yen per cycle and the dryer costs 100 yen for a 20 minute spin. Laundry detergent is free.

There is a designated smoking room on the first floor.

Free wireless internet access is available throughout the building.

There is an elevator to reach the upper floors.

Khaosan World Asakusa Ryokan & Hostel is a 2 minute walk from TX Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express line, 8 minutes’ walk from Tawaramachi station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, and 12 minutes from the Tobu and Toei Asakusa stations. The hostel is also within walking distance of shopping facilities of Don Quijote, and Asakusa Rox and sightseeing spots such as Sensoji Temple and the Kaminarimon Gate.
