Sukeroku no Yado Sadachiyo

Sukeroku no Yado Sadachiyo is a traditional Japanese inn (or ryokan) located in a beautiful old building in a quiet area of Asakusa. The inn features traditional communal baths, Japanese style meals, and is decorated throughout with beautiful Japanese antiques. This is a wonderful location in which to enjoy the hospitality, flavor, and atmosphere of old Tokyo.

Guest Rooms

This hotel has 20 guest rooms which are all decorated in an elegant Japanese style with tatami mat floors, paper screens, antique furniture and woodblock prints. Guests can rent rooms of different sizes with comfy futons for between 2 to 4 people.

All rooms have air conditioning and heating, a TV, a refrigerator, a hair dryer, a kettle with tea making facilities, a safe for valuables, and a light cotton yukata robe. All rooms have their own private bathroom with a bathtub, a shower, and a toilet with an electric bidet. Bathrooms are supplied with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, hair brushes, combs, and shaving razors.

Breakfast & Dining

A Japanese style breakfast and dinner are available in the hotel dining room. Breakfast is a set meal for 1,500 yen that includes grilled fish, rice, soup and a variety of side dishes.

There are a number of dinner sets available which range in price from 3,500 yen to 9,000 yen. Unfortunately, this hotel cannot cater for special dietary needs.

Other Services & Facilities

Reception staff are friendly and speak English. This hotel’s check-in time is between 16.00 and 22.00. Check-out time is between 7.30 and 10.00. The front desk is open until midnight and the front entrance is locked at midnight. Luggage can be stored at reception before checking in and after checking out.

Free wireless internet access is available throughout the building. A computer is available for guests to use in the lobby.

In addition to private baths, this hotel also has traditional communal baths (separated by gender) with a stone bath, and a fragrant hinoki cypress bath. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are supplied in the baths and there are towels and hair dryers in the changing rooms.

The hotel lounge area is decorated with a variety of fine wooden, lacquer, and ceramic antiques. The hotel also has a gift shop with traditional souvenirs.

In-room massages can be arranged for a fee.

A limited number of rental cycles are available for a fee.

Location

Sukeroku no Yado Sadachiyo is conveniently placed for several local attractions. The Hanayashiki Amusement Park is a 4 minute walk away, Sensoji Temple is 6 minutes away, and Asakusa Shrine is also 6 minutes away. The hotel is a 6 minute walk from TX Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express Line and 12 minutes from the Tobu, Tokyo Metro and Toei Asakusa station. Here is a map of the location.
