Asakusa Shinobi House

Asakusa Shinobi House is a traditional two story wooden townhouse that has been renovated into a comfortable holiday apartment. The whole house is rented by one group at a time, so that guests can relax in their very own Japanese “home away from home”.

Throughout the building, the interior décor is traditional with tatami mat floors, soft lighting, and natural tones. This house is ideal for families or small groups and can hold up to 7 people.

First Floor Rooms & Facilities

The front entrance opens into a porch and then a living room which has comfortable lounge chairs, a sofa, a coffee table, and a flat screen TV. Behind the living room is a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a separate toilet. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, a sink, a microwave oven, an electric toaster, an electric kettle, crockery, and cutlery. Free coffee and tea are also provided. Just behind the kitchenette is a washing machine which guests can use to do their laundry. A drying rack is provided on which to hang washed clothes. In the bathroom guests will find a shower and bathtub. Bath towels shampoo, conditioner and body soap are all supplied.

Second Floor Facilities

On the second floor is a large Japanese style room with tatami mat floors. Here guests can lay out their futons when they want to go to sleep. This floor also has two toilets and a washbasin. Toothbrushes, hand towels, and a hair dryer are supplied.

There is also an intermediate mezzanine level between the ground floor and second floor which is used as a staff room and for storage.

Other Services & Facilities

The staff of Asakusa Shinobi House speak English and Japanese. They are friendly and welcoming and can offer suggestions about what to see and do in the Asakusa neighborhood.

Guests are asked to contact Asakusa Shinobi House in advance with their expected arrival time. Staff can meet the guests on their arrival, check them in, and show them the facilities. Check in time is from 15.00 and check out time is by 11.00.

Free pocket Wi-Fi internet access is provided throughout the building.

Air conditioning and heating are provided in all the rooms.

The entire property is non-smoking.

Children are welcome but pets are not permitted in this property.

Location

Asakusa Shinobi House is very convenient for local transport. Tobu Asakusa Station is a 7 minute walk away, and the Toei and Tokyo Metro subway stations are also close by. Bus stops and taxi ranks are located by Tobu Asakusa Station, and TX Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express Line is a 12 minute walk away. This location is also very convenient for local shopping and dining facilities and for all of Asakusa’s attractions.

Sensoji Temple is a 6 minute walk to the west and Tokyo Skytree is a 15 minute walk to the east. Tokyo River Cruise boats can be boarded at the Asakusa Pier which is a 6 minute walk to the south. For groceries guests can find a Maruetsu Petit supermarket and a Sakaiya convenience store both of which are just 3 minutes from the house. Here is a map of the house’s location.
